As film makers continuously experiment until they find the perfect image, Kodak ensures that the end product looks exactly as intended. Using the Kodak Imagecare program the film is processed at international standards, to achieve a quality that does not allow any compromises.

At the beginning of 2006 Kodak Cinelabs Romania consolidated its position among the acreditated Kodak Imagecare laboratories. The laboratory is now accredited to process both negative and positive film.

Kodak Cinelabs Romania passed the accreditation tests with a very good result (98%) for both negative and positive film.

"The Kodak Imagecare program is now operating in many European laboratories: France, Benelux, Portugal, Spain etc.", explains Jean-Claude Peugnet, the Entertainment Imaging and Technology Center observer. "I can definitely say that the lab in Romania is among the best I have worked with. I have met very well prepared people. Both comunication and service quality proves the highest working standards", says Peugnet.

"The Imagecare program assures all laboratories they are taking the utmost care of the security of obtaining a good film quality and also to analyse the riscs, to prevent the potential problems that may occur during the process, in order to find the appropriate solutions at the right moment," says Peugnet. "First of all, Imagecare is a quality provider program." The laboratories that take part in this program are standardizing their operational procedures. They have to monitor, record and control their own work area within the technological process, in order to respect the quality criterions and the professionist standards recommended by Kodak.

Kodak Cinelabs Romania covered in two days all the standard steps of quality checking. "We have recorded all the procedure requested operations during one day, " Peugnet says. "There are turning on and off machines procedures, control operations, everything in order to assure us that not also today quality is ok, but also that it is at least as good as it was a day before."

The Imagecare procedure test has two sections: negative film processing - accomplished in the first day of rechecking - and positive film processing - in the second day. Both cover essential technological process procedures, regarding the chemical substances, developing, copying, the sound and film checking.

"The moment that you process your film in any of the laboratories that conformn to the Imagecare program standards, you know that you are dealing with dedicated professionals," considers Cornelia Popa, Kodak Cinelabs Romania Manager.

After many tests and discussions, followed by a very good result, "the most important aspect is that in Romania, Kodak Cinelabs obviously progressing every year", considers Jean-Claude Peugnet.

"So worry about the weather. Worry about the lighting. Worry about artistic merit. Worry about working with animals and children. Worry about working wiith children's parents. Worry about the musquitoes. Worry about the catering. Worry about wardrobe. Worry about your leading actor's motivation or if his trailer is big enough. Worry about the producers who worry too much. Worry about getting equipment wet. Worry about schedules and deadlines. Worry about timing. Worry about what rain does to suede shoes. Worry about budget. Worry about all the bugs. Worry about product placement. Worry about missing your father's 50th birthday because you're knee deep in mud on the other side of the world. Worry about standing in an open field in the middle of a lightning storm with 3 tones of scaffold on set.
